(Amsterdam, Netherlands) — Tommy Hilfiger is rolling out a new line of clothing combining fashion with technology. Dubbed the Tommy Jeans Xplore, the garment line has embedded Bluetooth smart tags that provides points and rewards to buyers who wear them. The announcement has left many privacy advocates wondering how the data would be utilized and if it could be sold to third parties. The line includes jeans, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and several other items. The company says earned points can be used for gift cards, signed merchandise, and pieces from the company’s archives.
