Bridge Work on Illinois 133 begins week of August 6th
Lovington– The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that bridge work will begin the week of August 6th, on Illinois 133, 2.5 miles east of Lovington, IL. The existing bridge carrying IL 133 over Jonathon Branch is being removed, and it will be replaced with a box culvert. To complete the work, Illinois 133 will be closed during the project. A marked detour will be in place to guide traffic around the road closure. The road will be closed beginning Monday August 13, 2018. The road is expected to be open to traffic by October 12, 2018, weather permitting.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
