(Truro, MA) — A Cape Cod beach has been closed after a vicious shark attack. The victim, 61-year-old William Lytton of Scarsdale, New York, was bitten by a Great White shark 30 yards off the Massachusetts coast Wednesday. Lytton suffered deep puncture wounds in his legs and torso, and was flown to a Boston hospital. Yesterday, his condition was upgraded from serious to fair. Swimming at the Cape Cod beach remains prohibited. The beach remains closed because of the attack, and because of what officials call “continued shark activity.”
