This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Illinois, east central Illinois and southeast Illinois including Champaign-Christian-Clark-Clay-Coles-Crawford-Cumberland-Douglas-Edgar-Effingham-Jasper-Lawrence-Macon-Moultrie-Piatt-Richland-Shelby and Vermilion counties
DAY ONE…TODAY AND TONIGHT… A large area of showers and storms will into east central Illinois this morning, ending early late this afternoon. After a break in the precipitation, additional storms will develop just west of the state and move back into east central Illinois during the late evening hours. Locally heavy rainfall and frequent
lightning will be a threat with any storm today and again tonight.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY… Thunderstorms will continue across parts of eastern and southeastern Illinois Saturday morning. Severe weather is not expected at this time.
The chance of storms will return for Tuesday night through Thursday. The risk of severe weather is unknown at this time.
Peak afternoon Heat Index values will approach or exceed 100 degrees for Saturday through Tuesday as summer-like heat and humidity returns to the area.
