A disturbance off the Florida Keys is now Tropical Storm Gordon. The National Hurricane Center has issued tropical storm warnings for South Florida from Golden Beach to Bonita Beach, and for the Keys from Craig Key to Ocean Reef, including Florida Bay. Those are in addition to a tropical storm warning issued earlier for the northern Gulf Coast from the Alabama-Florida border west into Louisiana. As of 8:30 a.m. Eastern time, Tropical Storm Gordon was about 20 miles west of Key Largo, moving quickly to the west-northwest with top winds increasing to 45 miles an hour. It’s expected to bring heavy rainfall as it moves over the Keys and South Florida today, headed for the southeastern Gulf of Mexico.
