Pediatricians Recommend Flu Shots For All Kids 6 Months And Up
(Undated) — Doctors who treat children say all kids age six months and up should get flu shots as soon as possible. The American Academy of Pediatrics says the flu virus is common and unpredictable and can cause serious complications, even in healthy children. The CDC says last year’s flu season was one of the most severe on record and put thousands of children in the hospital. Nearly 180 kids died of flu-related causes and the CDC says 80-percent of those who died hadn’t gotten flu shots. The Academy made its recommendation online yesterday in the journal Pediatrics.
