The National Weather Service Forecast has issued a Flash Flood Warning for counties in our Illinois listening area:
WHO: Menard-Scott-Logan-Christian-Sangamon-Cass-Macon-Morgan
This includes the following highways…
Interstate 55 between mile markers 89 and 115.
Interstate 72 between mile markers 43 and 144.
WHAT: At 452 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain continued to move
over the warned area. At 450 PM, the Mount Pulaski NWS observer
reported 3.49 inches of rainfall since this morning. More rain is
expected. Flash flooding will continue to be possible.
WHEN: THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 915 PM CDT
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
