Tropical Storm Florence is intensifying as it approaches the south Atlantic coast. Florence is expected to become a hurricane by later tonight or tomorrow as it heads towards the southeast U.S. Both the Carolinas have already declared states of emergency ahead of the storm. The forecast shows Florence tracking close to the East Coast by midweek and possibly hitting the southeast coastline by late next week. Even if it doesn’t make landfall, the storm should bring heavy rain and a high surf along the east coast.
