The first book published by Central Illinois author Dana Price reflects her love of animals. The children’s picture book, titled G is for Gorilla, showcases photos and information about gorillas native to sub-Saharan Africa.
Printed by Mascot Books, the hardback includes items to touch such as soft fur as well as photos of gorillas in various settings. The book promotes understanding of gorillas and what humans can do to help them thrive.
“I’ve always been passionate about providing a voice for animals because they are unable to speak for themselves,” Price said. “This is a show of support and appreciation to these endangered animals in hopes that it will promote education and interest in protecting their unique ways.”
With its interesting facts and touch and feel elements, G is for Gorilla is the perfect read for anyone interested in conservation and saving endangered species from extinction.
Price is donating a portion of the proceeds from the book sales to organizations helping to save endangered gorillas and local zoos.
Price is a Mattoon native and a Realtor with Century 21 KIMA Properties. To set up an interview, reading, signing, or for information regarding G is for Gorilla, please contact her at danasweigh@hotmail.com.
