(Undated) — Tropical Storm Florence is being downgraded to a tropical depression. As of 5 a.m. Eastern, the National Weather Service reports the storm is now packing maximum sustained winds of 35 miles per hour. The center of the storm is about 20 miles southwest of Columbia, South Carolina. It’s moving west at around eight miles per hour. The storm is expected to track to the northwest later today, before turning into the Ohio Valley and into the Northeast. Some areas have already seen up to 30 inches of rain and it will likely continue to fall for a couple of more days. At least 13 storm-related deaths have been reported and thousands remain without power.
