Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation Sues Architect Over ‘Defective’ Homes
(New Orleans, LA) — Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation is suing the executive architect over the construction work done on homes in the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans. The actor had been accused of building sub-par homes for displaced residents of Hurricane Katrina. The suit claims group paid Louisiana-based architect John C. Williams over four-million dollars to create the blueprints and oversee construction. Williams is being accused of defective work, as the designs exposed wood to rain and moisture, didn’t include adequate waterproofing and didn’t have roofs up to code. Repairing the damages caused by the poor designs could cost the non-profit up to 20-million dollars.
Earlier this month, the foundation was sued by two homeowners who claimed the charity had sold them defective and improperly constructed homes.
