The City of Mattoon’s Public Works Department will begin flushing hydrants Monday (10/1) Flushing will be conducted weekdays between 6:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. You may notice some discoloration during the process, but the water is safe to drink at all times. However, if you plan on doing laundry, let it run until it clears up.
