National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
(Undated) — Today is the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The disease is the third deadliest type of cancer in the world, and the most common in cancer in women. The National Cancer Institute says a woman has around a one in eight chance of being diagnosed with it in their lifetime. Having a mother, sister or daughter who has it almost doubles your risk. Women should start getting an annual breast cancer screening around the age of 40.
