(Shreveport, LA) — A man won’t have to pay a late fee after returning a library book 84 years late. The Shreve Memorial Library posted the news on its Facebook page. It appears the man’s mother checked out “Spoon River Anthology” by Edgar Lee Masters in 1934 but never returned the book. He found it while he was cleaning out his parents’ house. The book was due back to the library on April 14, 1934 according to the library card inside the cover.
