Mark your calendar to join us at our Candidates Forum this Tuesday the 16th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The Charleston & Mattoon Chambers will be hosting the Candidates Forum at the Unique Suites Hotel in Charleston. Invited guests for the evening are candidates for Coles County sheriff, James “Jimmy” Rankin and Greg Voudrie; along with candidates for state representative for the 110th District, Shirley Bell and Chris Miller. The moderator for the evening will be Rodney Morris, a local business professional.
Candidates will introduce themselves and give opening statements. The audience will then have an opportunity to ask questions. All questions must be submitted in writing and will be screened before being given to the candidates. If a candidate is unable to attend, a representative may deliver prepared opening and closing statements on their behalf, but they will not be able to answer any of the audience questions.
This event is free and open to the public. We look forward to seeing you there to learn about what the candidates are planning for the future of Coles County.
