The Illinois Department of Transportation is looking to hire hundreds of snow plow drivers statewide in advance of the coming winter season. Most of the openings are temporary positions in which the driver will be called on as needed for a pay rate of $20.55 an hour. Drivers must possess a specific kind of class A or B commercial driver’s license and be able to report to work on 45 minutes’ notice or less. For more information, visit idot.illinois.gov.
