Association of Fundraising Professionals Announces National Philanthropy Day Finalists
CHAMPAIGN, ILLINOIS (October 12, 2018) — The East Central Illinois Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFPECI) will host National Philanthropy Day on Friday, November 16, 2018. The annual event will include presentation of seven awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award, to recognize area individuals or organizations for their philanthropic contributions to our communities.
The 2018 National Philanthropy Day recipient for the Lifetime Achievement Award presented by Carle will be Lyn Jones for her long and distinguished career in philanthropy and service to the profession, including her service to the University of Illinois, United Way of Champaign County, the Carle Center for Philanthropy. .
The award presentation will be held at the IHotel and Conference Center in Urbana from 11:30am to 1:30pm. Top finalists of each category have been named, and the awardees will be announced at the luncheon. The top finalists include:
Outstanding Philanthropist(s) presented by United Way of Champaign County: James Barham, Wayne and the late Clara Borgic, and Fred and Nancy Delcomyn
Oustanding Volunteer Fundraiser presented by Horizon Health: Dr. Alice Marie Jacobs, Steve & Debbie Benefiel, and Tiffany & Clint Jackson
Outstanding Foundation or Organization presented by Community Foundation of East Central Illinois: Champaign West Rotary, Martha and Joseph Schrodt Family Foundation, and Fuqua Foundation
Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation presented by BankChampaign: Cromwell Radio, Kohl’s, and Amdocs
Oustanding Youth in Philanthropy presented by Busey Bank: Barry Houser & U of I Marching Illini Sousaphones and Codify Kids
Outstanding Fundraising Executive presented by Frisse & Brewster Law Offices: Jackie Joines, CFRE, Winnie Crowder, CFRE, and Ellen Kirsanoff
