French President Emmanuel Macron [[ MAH-crohn ]] says he agrees with President Trump about the need for “burden sharing” by Europe in NATO. The two leaders held a brief press conference this morning in Paris, where ceremonies are being held to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One. Macron said that at his upcoming meeting with Trump, he will share proposals about Europe’s strategic defense capabilities and the need for a Europe that is able to take on more of the burden. President Trump said at the press briefing that the U.S. also wants a strong Europe.
