Lego And Sesame Street Team Up To Teach Refugee Children
(Billund, Denmark) — Lego is teaming up with Sesame Street to educate refugee children. The Lego Foundation announced Wednesday that it’s awarding a 100-million-dollar grant to Sesame Workshop for a mass media program to help educate millions of refugee children. The program will include a play-based curriculum that will provide critical early education, like reading and counting, through Sesame Street videos, storybooks, games and puzzles, and provide safe spaces to play. Organizers hope the program will help young refugees cope with some of the long-term effects of displacement and trauma.
