A 41-year-old guy in Germany named Manfred Kick was driving his Tesla on the Autobahn Monday night. And another car started swerving around, and bouncing off the guardrail.
The other driver was a 47-year-old guy who’d lost consciousness. Apparently he had a stroke. Manfred pulled up next to him, and could see him slumped over in his seat.
So he got on the phone and called it in. But he knew someone needed to stop the guy’s car immediately.
So even though he was in a $70,000 Tesla, he passed him on the right . . . pulled in front of him . . . and let the guy rear-end him.
He started tapping his brakes until the guy’s car hit his back bumper. Then he kept doing it until both cars stopped.
Paramedics got the guy to a hospital, and they think it’s very possible Manfred saved his life.
It’s not clear how banged up his car was afterward. But Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk tweeted about it on Wednesday, and said HE’S paying for all the repairs. (Jalopnik / Merkur.de)
