One teenager was killed riding a bike last night, Tuesday, August 1st, after colliding with a vehicle in Piatt County. According to Illinois State Police, preliminary details indicate a 14 year-old male, of La Place, IL (unit 1) was riding his bicycle northbound on IL Route 32, in the southbound lanes, when a Red Chevrolet Cobalt driven by a 20 year-old female, also of La Place, IL (unit 2) drove by heading south in the southbound lane. Unit 2 ended up colliding with unit 1. Unit one succumbed to his injuries while unit 2 was not injured. Unit 1 was taken to the Piatt County Coroner’s Office and the crash remains under investigation at this time.
