There’s an eight-year-old girl in Kansas City, Missouri named Amelia Meyer who’s battling brain cancer. And she recently decided to use her one Make-A-Wish request to do something totally selfless.
About a month-and-a-half ago, she said she wanted to use her wish to, quote, “take care of the world.” So last Saturday, hundreds of people in Kansas City got together to help her pick up TRASH in a local park.
Amelia’s mom says she was super-excited about it the night before, but had no idea that so many people were going to help.
In fact, so many people showed up that they actually cleaned up FOUR parks. And people all over the country got in on it by cleaning up trash and posting photos with the hashtag, “AmeliasWish”.
The mayor of Kansas City also declared February 27th, “Amelia Meyer’s Take Care of the World Day.”
