You know that if you stand up and walk around for five minutes at work you aren’t going to get fired, right?
A new survey found that the average person only gets up from their desk THREE TIMES a day. They’ll grab a cup of coffee, go to the bathroom . . . and that’s it. Here are some more results from the survey.
1. The main reason people stay locked down to their desks is they’re “too busy” to leave. The number two reason is they’re afraid the phone will ring while they’re gone.
2. 10% of people don’t take lunch breaks, and another 40% regularly eat lunch at their desk.
3. About one in five people say they’ve put on more than 10 pounds in the past year, and they’re pretty sure sitting around at work is the main reason.
4. And 70% of people say sitting at a desk all day is having a negative effect on their mental health, physical health, or both.
