A powerful nor’easter on the East Coast is now being blamed for at least seven deaths. “ABC News” says all seven people were killed by falling trees. The victims include a six-year-old boy in Virginia who died when a tree fell on his home. An 11-year-old boy was hit by a falling tree in New York. A 57-year-old Pennsylvania man was hit by a tree while in his car, and a 77-year-old woman was struck by a large branch outside her home in Baltimore. High wind warnings are in effect from the Carolinas to Massachusetts, warning of gusts from 50-to-65 milers-per-hour. The highest wind gust recorded so far as been 93-miles-per-hour in Barnstable, Massachusetts. Hurricane-force winds are expected to continue overnight on the Massachusetts coast and in Rhode Island.
The winter storm is also dropping heavy snow on the Northeast. New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania had already got ten inches of snow by afternoon. Connecticut and Boston have also been hit with heavy rain and flooding.
